The 62nd Annual CARB Award Banquet will be held on December 5, 2015 at the Kansas City Airport Marriott.  Tickets are $35.00 each and can be purchased by contacting Jamie Powell (816) 214-3745, Bob Reber (816) 665-4987 or Cindy Layne (816) 519-8860.  Along with the Special Awards, CARB will honor the Campion Driver, Most Improved Driver and Rookie in each class for each CARB supported track.



All General Membership meeting will be held at the American Inn Hotel located at 1211 Armour Road, North Kansas City, MO 64116.  Meetings are scheduled for:

Sunday, October 4th at 3:00 p.m.                                             Saturday, November 7th at 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, December 13th at 5:00 p.m.                                    Saturday, January 9th at 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, February 13th at 5:00 p.m.

During the October meeting we will briefly recap our summer events, review and discuss Constitution/Bylaw Amendments, open nominations for the 2016 Officers and Directors, and open nomination for the CARB special awards to be given out at this year’s banquet.  A description of each special award is listed below.  If you know of someone that is deserving of one of these awards, please attend the October meeting and nominate them.  The Special Awards are:

Distinguished Service Award: Any race car driver, owner, or mechanic who performs an act or service relating to the “Betterment of Auto Racing.”
Sportsman of the Year: A driver, participating in active competition that shows skill in and devotion to racing, with conduct becoming a sportsman; which involves honest rivalry and graceful acceptance of results.
J.O. “Pop” Hartman Award: Any person other than an active driver, owner, or mechanic, who performs an act or service for the “Betterment of Auto Racing”.
Virginia Nelson Achievement Award: This award will be presented to a current member of CARB who has unselfishly given of his or her time and energy to the current and past success of CARB and to the sport of Auto Racing. The recipient is a person who asks for nothing in return but to see the future of CARB and the sport of Auto Racing maintained in this area.
Linda Loos Commitment Award: This award is presented to a CARB Member who has displayed complete commitment to the club by volunteering and supporting the various functions throughout the year. The recipient of this award gives a huge amount of their life to the success of CARB and regularly attends all CARB functions and tackles the duties no else volunteers to complete.
Tom Karrick Family Award: Any family that through years of service to the racing community has displayed a devotion and love to auto racing, continually promoting the sport of auto racing through participation in the sport, community service, or other means which displays auto racing as a family sport. In the words of Tom Karrick “Racing is Family.”
In addition to those special awards, the Jud Larson Memorial Award will be awarded to a Kansas City Driver residing within a fifty-mile radius from Kansas City, Missouri’s City Hall, who has the highest points for his performance at a track other than a local supported track. (Example: Driving at races sanctioned by USAC, NASCAR, IMCA, etc.

We hope to see lots of our members at these meetings.
