2012 Golf Tournament
GOLF TOURNAMENT:
In what has become a C.A.R.B. tradition the 18th annual Golf Tournament will be held on May 20, 2012 at the Winterstone Golf Course in Independence, Mo. We will continue the four man scramble format but with a new scoring system. We will utilize the Peoria Scoring System. The Peoria scoring system is a one day handicapping system for tournaments in which most golfers do not have real handicap indexes. The Peoria system, based in a certain part on luck, allows a handicap allowance to be determined and then applied to each team’s score. The Peoria system rewards those teams which keep accurate scores.
The registration fee for a four man scramble tournament is $260.00 per team, unless a team has a driver with earned points at a C.A.R.B supported track. Drivers with earned points receive a $5 dollar discount. Teams must register by May 7, 2011. Teams registering after the deadline must pay a late penalty. Dinner is included in the tournament price.
We will continue the “Luck of the Draw Racer’s Tournament” format. Additionally the tournament will be flighted. What is a “Luck of the Draw Racers Tournament”? Just like some tracks on opening night or for special events have a draw to determine starting position; this tournament will end with a draw to determine prize money. The first place team will win four (4) first place trophies and will have their names posted on the main trophy. Each winner will then draw from the winner’s kitty to see what he or she has won. The winner of the second flight will each then get to draw from the winner’s kitty. Then the winner of the third flight will draw the remaining four envelopes. The kitty consist of 12 envelopes, 2 containing $100.00, 2 containing $75.00, 2 containing $50.00, and 6 containing $25.00. Total prize money is $600.00.
We will continue to have lots of prizes, door prizes, hole prizes, and raffle prizes. Everyone should win something. So make plans now to attend the 18th Annual Golf tournament on May 20.
