Lifetime Memberships and Constitution Amendments

March 8, 2008 was a busy day for the Central Auto Racing Boosters besides hosting the Fifth Annual Hall of Fame Appreciation Dinner. The day included a general membership meeting in which a vote was held to issue two lifetime memberships and to adopt changes to the constitution.

At the start of the Hall of Fame Appreciation Dinner, President J.D. Green presented lifetime memberships to surprised Board of Director Debbie Bergman and Vice President Rodney Hawkins. To become a lifetime member a written presentation must be made to the president who in turn makes the presentation to the Board and Officers and once passing that vote then the lifetime membership is presented to the general membership to vote either yea or nay. Once again congratulations to Debbie and Rodney for achieving one of the highest honors in the organization.

Additionally, the general membership voted to change the constitution. The following amendments were approved:
- no minimum age to be a member.
- membership dues were simplified to $10 annually.
- changed the minimum age for Rookie of the Year award to at the minimum age as required by track policy.
- created a gold and blue membership for tracks wishing to be C.A.R.B. supported, the owner/promoter must decide by January each year which membership he/she prefers for their tracks. Gold memberships the club will honor Champion owner, driver, and mechanics at the season ending banquet. Blue membership tracks the club will honor the champion drivers, only. Gold membership tracks will be provided time to give their awards at the C.A.R.B. banquet and blue membership tracks will not give their awards at the banquet.

Remember this year a C.A.R.B. membership will get you into six tracks free on C.A.R.B. Nights. C.A.R.B. Nights are May 9 at Lakeside, June 20 at Valley, July 12 at Central Missouri Speedway, July 25 and July 26 at I-70 Speedway, and August 9 at I-35 Speedway.
